Today is the opening day of this years Singapore Food Festival. To celebrate we are launching our second staycation food tour. Our Sunset Street Eats of Katong food tour explores our colourful Peranakan enclave on the East Coast. Known island wide as a food hotspot our food tour will be taking in flavours from our Indian, Malay, Chinese and of course Peranakan kitchens. It is the perfect Singapore Food Festival food tour.

More about the Singapore Food Festival

The Singapore Food Festival is an annual celebration of our amazing food scene. This year is slightly different. There are many online and virtual experiences that you can enjoy. Head to www.singaporefoodfestival.sg/virtual-cook-along where you can sign up to 18 different masterclasses. These are held by some of our favourite local chefs such as Dave Pynt from Burntends and Violet Oon. On the on line classes you can learn how to make dishes such as National day eclairs or Ayam Buah Keluak. There is even a Singapore inspired cocktail making class.

For those of you that aren’t in Singapore at the moment there is also a virtual food tour being held.

Street Eats at Sunset tour

For those of you who are in Singapore, why not come and enjoy our real food tour.

We are very excited to be bringing back our award winning Katong food adventure, starting tomorrow (Saturday 22nd August). This 3 hour food tour explores some of our favourite local food businesses of Katong and Joo Chiat. Since 2015 we’ve been running this tour and it has been a hit with both visitors and locals. Not only do we enjoy savouring some delicious food. We also meet the people behind the dishes, learn their stories and find out a bit more about our homeland.

We are keeping it to small groups of 5 with plenty of distancing and safe check ins. We have options for private tours if you’d prefer to be just with your friends or family. Singabites will be running the tours every Saturday and Sunday going forward. Visit https://singabites.com/street-eats-at-sunset/ to reserve your spots and to celebrate the Singapore food festival food tour.

** We are sold out for 22nd and 23rd, places still available for 29th and 30th August**
