The Singapore Food Festival is celebrating it’s 27th birthday this year. The food festival started yesterday (21st August) and will run until 30th August. Obviously this year is a bit different to normal years. Due to the Covid situation the festival is going online. The virtual Singapore food festival still promises to give you heaps of foodie fun.

So what can you enjoy at the virtual festival?

One of the main draw cards are the master classes being held online. Anyone can join the classes. They are led by some of the biggest names in Singapore’s food scene. You can learn how to create modern Singapore dishes from the experts. Each masterclass has an ingredients list to help you follow along. You can also purchase specially created ingredients boxes from the chefs themselves. If you are looking to impress your friends in the kitchen this is definitely for you. Go to https://www.singaporefoodfestival.sg/virtual-cook-along and take a look at the masterclasses on offer.

Singapore Food Festival Tour

Another great idea this year is the virtual food tour. If you can’t be in Singapore to enjoy the festival you can join Chua Enlai virtually, as he walks around Singapore trying some of his favourite dishes. He explores Chinatown and Katong and visits lots of local food heroes.
If you are in Singapore you can go one better and join one of our food tours in real life. Singabites has worked closely with the Singapore Tourism Board to safely re-open 2 of our Singapore food tours.

Our Staycation food tour provides a behind the scenes look at Little India. Over 2 hours you will eat and explore around Singapore’s Indian homeland. We even have a special hands on experience and gifts for you to take home.
Our second tour is the Sunset street eats food tour. This takes place in Joo Chiat and Katong during the early evening. Peranakan, Malay, Indian, Eurasian and Chinese flavours abound on this 3 hour exploration of on of our favourite eating neighbourhoods.
